Leeds Beckett University partnered with Leeds
City Council to create new dynamic content for the newly branded Leeds Big Screen in Millennium Square to celebrate the breadth and quality of work produced by Leeds Beckett students - this piece is my winning competition entry.
Aprils showcase called for works that somehow considered Dementia Awareness Week, sensitive but experimental and that explored the ability of memory, how we forget and how to dissect these two aspects into a piece of work.
Inundated by a trial and error process captured throughout my practice, my computer hard drive and I slowly began to drown amongst gigabytes of stored footage. In order to represent some of these records and re-focus their output, last minute I produced an interpretation for the brief.
It was refreshing to see my own work in an alternative display space; excitingly exaggerated on the Big Screen of Leeds Millennium Square.
